So living life has gotten in the way of my blogging lately. If you’re in any way connected to me in real life, you probably know why because…
Jonathan and I got engaged!!!
If it’s not obvious from the mini photo story, Jonathan asked me to marry him on August 8 on a bench next to Tower Bridge. It was partly a surprise (we picked out the ring together, but I didn’t know he had picked if up after getting it re-sized), and I can honestly say there were tears of excitement and joy. It was incredibly special that Jonathan chose such a beautiful landmark to ask me since we’ll both always remember that day whenever we see it. Although Jonathan wouldn’t know this since he’s never seen the film, the whole thing reminded me of that iconic shot from Woody Allen’s Manhattan.
I couldn’t be more appreciative of all the loving wishes we’ve received from all our friends and family. I can honestly say that getting engaged in the 21st century has it’s advantages. Because of my crazy popular facebook status, even the most distant friends and co-workers seem to know the news. Subtlety was not an option.

So here are a few frequently asked questions:
1) When are you getting married (and in what country)? We’ve decided our wedding will have to happen after we get back from China next Fall. We’re most likely going to do in North Carolina in the spring/summer of 2014. So don’t worry if you don’t hear anything about dates until next year!
2) Where will you live after the wedding? We don’t know, but we’re looking at graduate schools in both the US and England.
3) Have you started wedding planning? Yes and no. I’d love to find a venue before I leave next month. But I’m guessing everything else won’t happen until I’m back on US soil. However, I am already oohing and ahhing over Pinterest boards and Weddinggawker.
But yes. We’re happy. Life couldn’t get much better than this.
